After the spring/sometimessummer season is finished on Closing Day, the Club plays in two "short carpet" leagues through the winter months. These are the Glasgow Short Rink Bowling Association (G.S.R.I.B.A.)and the Clydebank and District equivalent. The leagues run through the winter months and along with singles, pairs, triples and seniors triples competitions there are inter-county games. Usually towards the end of the season the individual competitions are run culminating in a "Finals" evening or day being held at the Presidents own club.
There is a difference between "short carpet" and "carpet bowls" in that "short carpet" is played on a specific type of carpet with certain dimensions and a "stick" placed in the middle of the "carpet" forcing players to "draw" their bowl around it. If the bowl hits the "stick" then the bowl is removed from play. "Carpet bowls" can be played on any carpet in a hall or home.

The local Indoor Bowling Club is the Whiteinch Bowling Club, in South St. Club members from the surrounding lawn bowling clubs are members and it is an opportunity to continue playing throughout the year not only with some of your own club members but also those from other clubs. In general terms the speed of the "green" in indoor bowling clubs is considered faster than its natural forerunner and it is usually the version that is covered by television.
